Crown Day at the MUAHS VIP Gifting Suite

Today, I attended the Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards Gifting Suite hosted with MUAHS Local 706. These artistic professionals have created the iconic looks for Hollywood’s most memorable characters and stars. I was so excited to attend this event which celebrated diversity and inclusion.

The launch of “Crown Day Competition” by Dove, took place at the Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards Gifting Suite, it celebrates the passage of The Crown Act by the State of California, protecting the rights of people of color at schools and in the workplace, allowing us to wear Afro-Centric hairstyles without fear of repercussion.  I’m so excited and thrilled to see diversity celebrated at this VIP & Media Reception.

I had the opportunity to engage with all of the beauty brand activating on site which included Dove, Schwarzkopf, Farouk, CHI, Urban Decay, BLK/OPL, Hollywood Fashion Secrets, Giovanni ECO Chic Beauty, Tablette, Skinshine Beauty, Beautyblender, Le Mieux, Ardell, FUSIONPKG, Clubman Pinaud , Woody’s For Men and Punky Colour.

I’m extremely grateful to the Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild for hosting this awesome event and celebrating diversity and inclusion within the beauty industry. As a woman of color who wears a Afro-Centric hairstyle (Locs) I would like to extend my gratitude for celebrating diversity.
