Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is a special month for me for several reasons. October 1985 was the start of what we recognize as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer is one of the most common in America. I make a point every October to buy products that give to combat cancer.

For the month of October, Owl’s Brew Boozy Tea is changing their packaging and going pink to join in the fight of raising awareness for Breast Cancer prevention and detection with Keep a Breast, a 501 (c)(3) foundation focused on breast cancer awareness and education. Additionally, Owl’s Brew will donate $1 for every tag of #DrinkWiseDrinkPink and include a QR Code on the packaging for customers to download the Keep a Breast App, which connects users who think they may have discovered something during their check with a telehealth medical professional via their partnership with Carbon Health.

Owl’s Brew was founded by tea experts, Jennie Ripps and Maria Littlefield. The brand makes great tasting clean boozy beverages, using tea & botanicals as a base.  Their line of Boozy Teas (4.8% Alc/Vol) are crafted with 100% real ingredients, 100% of the time. All Owl’s Brew’s products are Vegan and Gluten Free. The co-founders also the creators of Wise Women Collective, a women-for-women initiative that partners with Keep-A-Breast, Women’s Voices for the Earth, and has a monthly #BoozyBookClub

I want to highlight one of Thrive’s Causemetics Breast Cancer Awareness giving partners called 5 Under 40, whose mission is to provide funded medical, wellness, educational, and beauty services to women under the age of 40 who have been diagnosed with breast cancer or have a BRCA mutation. Since 2021 Thrive Causemetics has given 2,000 products worth over $50,000 to the organization, and that number will continue to increase this year, especially with more customer purchases during October.

Besides being vegan, cruelty-free, and safe enough for cancer patients to use, Thrive Causemetics products are also free of carcinogens and other harmful ingredients that could put consumers at risk over time. Thrive’s first product created was an eyelash adhesive safe enough for sensitive and immunocompromised eyes to use, specifically because she knew that women who had lost their eyelashes due to chemotherapy needed a product just for them. Their lash glue and false lashes are now some of their best-selling products and last month they launched a new Liquid Lash Extensions Lash Serum to help people safely re-grow their lashes.

Thrive Causemetics just dropped a re-launch of their fan-favorite Buildable Blur CC Cream, expanding the range from 18 to 28 shades, as well as a reformulation that will now offer SPF 40 instead of 30 and more sustainable packaging! This light-weight, multitasking, color-correcting cream instantly blurs and diffuses skin imperfections with 16-hour buildable light-to-full coverage and broad-spectrum SPF 40 protection. Formulated with Vitamin C, our all-in-one makeup and skin-loving hybrid formula combines powerful ingredients to simultaneously moisturize, brighten, protect and color-correct skin. Each shade will now be available with cool, warm or neutral undertones. Thrive Causemetics’ mission is Bigger than Beauty, and their community is everything to them.
